Einmann Baumarktplanen Tarp

There are plenty of kinds of tarps. That is just one of them.

The background was, if it is possible to create a useful tarp by commercially available materials for just a few euro's.

A lot of tarps do without protection from the ground (i.e. they are not water resistant) and do without protection from wind (i.e. are not windproof) from 2 sides.

I tried to solve that problem by following means:

You will have to use a tarpaulin from the hardware store which is at least 3 meter's in length and 2 meter's in width. Additionally about 5 meter's of accessory cord or alternatively a roll of clothes line.

The first side of the rope will be attached with a timber hitch to a tree.

The tarpaulin is above the rope and is tauted by 2 prusik knot's.

A figure of eight knot will be knotted into the rope and will be tauted by block and tackle.

The tension of the predominant rope will be kept by a simple timber hitch.

General rule for knots: The easier, the better. Every knot must be solvable !

Tent Stakes - Or how to attach the tarp to the ground You will need 5 twigs which are as long and as thick as a finger and carve a tip to the side.

With the sling, which is attached to the rope, you will stick the twigs into the ground and then you are ready.

And a few last words

Shut down your computer and go out. Discover your native country and know them.
