Wie funktioniert Meshtastic?

Meshtastic ist ein dezentrales Mesh-Netzwerk für textbasierte Kommunikation, das LoRa-Funk nutzt. Es ermöglicht Nachrichten und Standortteilen ohne Internet oder Mobilfunk – jedes Gerät (Node) sendet und relait automatisch.

Grundprinzip

• Lokale Verbindung (Smartphone zu eigenem Node): Über Bluetooth (primär), USB oder WiFi. Die Meshtastic-App sendet die Nachricht an deinen Node.
• Mesh-Übertragung (Node zu Node): Via LoRa-Funk (nicht Bluetooth!) – lange Reichweite (bis 10–30 km pro Hop), energieeffizient.
• Am Ziel: Der Empfänger-Node leitet die Nachricht via Bluetooth an das Smartphone weiter.

Mehrere Hops (Relais-Kette)

Nachrichten „hoppen“ über multiple Nodes:

• Jeder Node relait automatisch (Mesh Broadcast Algorithm).
• Bis zu 3–5 Hops standardmäßig (mehr möglich, aber mit Latenz).
• Beispiel: Smartphone A → Bluetooth → Node A → LoRa → Node B → LoRa → Node C → Bluetooth → Smartphone C.
• Vorteile: Erhöht Gesamtreichweite auf 100+ km in dichten Meshes.
• Limitierungen: Jeder Hop verzögert (Sekunden bis Minuten); bei Überlastung Nachrichtenverlust.

LoRa vs. Bluetooth

• LoRa: Für das Mesh (Node-zu-Node) – hohe Reichweite, niedriger Verbrauch, langsam (ideal für Text).
• Bluetooth: Nur lokal (Smartphone zu eigenem Node) – kurze Reichweite (10–20 m), für Konfiguration/App-Nutzung. Kein Bluetooth zwischen Nodes!

Meshtastic ist perfekt für autarke Gruppenkommunikation – z. B. Familie/Nachbarn in Krisen.
